“Regardless Of Sexuality” Wins ‘Best Documentary’ At Asian Academy Creative Awards 2023

“Regardless of Sexuality”, Singapore’s ground-breaking LGBT documentary, has won ‘Best Documentary Programme (one-off)’ at the prestigious Asian Academy Creative Awards 2023.

Regardless of Sexuality, the first LGBT documentary to grace Singapore’s TV screens in nearly two decades, has won the national award for ‘Best Documentary Programme (one-off)’ at the prestigious Asian Academy Creative Awards (AAA) 2023.

About Regardless Of Sexuality

Hosted by Senior Minister Of State Dr Janil Puthucheary, the documentary is part of an integral part of Channel News Asia’s ‘Regardless Of’ series, renowned for addressing challenging societal issues.

For the very first time on national TV, this documentary brought together members of the LGBT community, their parents, and religious leaders for an unfiltered discussion about the divisions that exist among them. By encouraging them to share their personal experiences, the documentary aimed to explore the question: What does it take for LGBT individuals to reconcile their sexuality with the bonds of family, faith, and community?
